Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Revu, the web-based platform operated by Revu (Pty) Ltd and available at https://www.revu.africa, including any related applications, APIs, integrations, and services (collectively, the "Platform")

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

1. About Revu

Revu (Pty) Ltd ("Revu", "we", "us", or "our") operates Revu, a web-based technology platform available at https://www.revu.africa, that facilitates marketing and promotional campaigns between businesses ("Brands") and independent individuals or creators ("Users").

Revu provides tools for campaign creation, participation, verification, analytics, and payment facilitation through third-party providers.

Revu acts solely as a marketplace intermediary. Revu does not employ Users, does not act as an agent for Brands or Users, and does not guarantee campaign outcomes or earnings.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older to use the Platform.
  • You represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Use by minors is strictly prohibited.
  • Revu reserves the right to verify identity and eligibility.

3. Accounts & Authentication

3.1 Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using email authentication, magic links, or third-party OAuth providers.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information.

3.2 Account Responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining account security and all activity conducted through your account.

3.3 Enforcement

Revu may suspend or terminate your account at its sole discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or create legal, financial, or reputational risk.

Revu's enforcement decisions are final.

4. Platform Roles

The Platform supports:

  • Users / Creators
  • Brands / Businesses
  • Administrators

Access, permissions, and obligations vary by role.

5. Campaigns & Participation

  • Campaigns are created by Brands.
  • Participation is voluntary and subject to eligibility and availability.
  • Completion of tasks does not guarantee payment.
  • All campaign activity is subject to verification and approval.

Revu may modify, pause, or cancel campaigns to maintain Platform integrity.

6. Payments & Financial Disclosures

6.1 Marketplace Payments

  • Brands fund campaigns through Revu.
  • Users may receive payments only after verification and approval.
  • Payments may be delayed, batched, or withheld.

6.2 Third-Party Payment Processors

Revu uses third-party providers to process payments.

Revu is not a bank, payment service provider, trustee, or financial institution. Revu does not hold user funds beyond operational settlement purposes.

6.3 Holds, Reviews & Reversals

Revu may withhold, delay, reverse, or cancel payments in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, or policy violations.

6.4 Fees

Revu may charge platform fees or commissions, disclosed on the Platform and subject to change.

6.5 Refunds

  • User earnings are non-refundable.
  • Brand payments are generally non-refundable unless required by law or approved by Revu.

7. Taxes

You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes arising from your use of the Platform. Revu does not provide tax advice.

8. User Content & Licensing

8.1 User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload ("User Content").

You grant Revu a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, analyze, display, and showcase User Content for Platform operation, verification, analytics, marketing, and product improvement.

8.2 Brand Content

Brand-submitted content remains the property of the Brand.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  • Engage in fraud, manipulation, or deceptive conduct
  • Artificially inflate engagement or performance
  • Use bots, scripts, or automation
  • Misrepresent identity, audience, or results
  • Infringe intellectual property
  • Harass or abuse others
  • Circumvent Platform safeguards
  • Use the Platform unlawfully

10. API Access & Integrations

Revu may provide API access subject to rate limits, monitoring, and revocation.

You may not scrape, resell, reverse engineer, or abuse API access or data.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

Revu processes personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy, POPIA, and applicable laws.

12. Intellectual Property

All Platform software, branding, trademarks, and materials (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to Revu.

Unauthorized use is prohibited.

13. Independent Relationship

Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint venture relationship.

Users act independently.

14. No Guarantee of Earnings

Revu does not guarantee income, results, or campaign availability.

15. Third-Party Services Disclaimer

Revu is not responsible for failures or downtime caused by third-party services.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • The Platform is provided "as-is" and "as-available".
  • Revu disclaims all warranties.
  • Revu's total liability shall not exceed amounts paid to or by you in the preceding 12 months.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Revu from claims arising from your use of the Platform, content, or violations of these Terms.

18. Force Majeure

Revu is not liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including power outages, network failures, or regulatory actions.

19. Dispute Resolution

Disputes must first be raised via support@revu.africa.

Unresolved disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration in South Africa, unless prohibited by law.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

21. Assignment

Revu may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Revu.

23. Changes to Terms

Revu may update these Terms at any time. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
